Honolulu has a good range of traditional Hawaiian performances in addition to its amazing beaches. Of particular note is the Hawaii Theater Center.

Built in 1922, this recently renovated 1,400 seat theater hosts a variety of live performing arts. Other performing arts centers include the Doris Duke Theater, while ballet and symphony performances can also be enjoyed. Traditional native Hawaiian performances are also held year round throughout the city and the island of Oahu.

Hawaiians love to have a good time and there is no shortage of live music venues spread throughout the island state's capital. Anna Banana's is popular with students from nearby Hawaii University, with performances ranging from solo guitar to blues, reggae and various types of rock. For the nightclub scene, try Ocean Club, which has the biggest dance floor in town; the décor is ultra chic and so is the crowd.
